A Girls' Trip to Cuba

I enjoyed my solo trip to Cuba so much, I went back 6 months later with my friends. We stayed at the same rental from Airbnb and did some of the same activities. My tips for Cuba are at the end.

Cooking Class: We did a private cooking class with Marian and her mom Ana. Their hospitality is exceptional. And the food was great once again. To book, send an email to Marian at mariarivic@gmail.com. We paid about $45 per person.

Photography Tour: We went on the Havana's Highlights Tour with I Love Cuba. The price was 200 CUC for 4 people (50 CUC per person) for a 6 hour tour. Damian was our tour guide and he was awesome. He also took some great photos of us.

AfroCuba Day Tour: This tour included visit to a Yoruba museum, Tambor-Rumba presentation, lunch, Cuban home visit, and the black book/doll donation distribution. This was our least favorite activity. The price was about 130 CUC. If you want to learn about Afro-Cuban religion, I recommend the tour from my solo trip.

SalsAmiga: Of course, we had to take a dance class at SalsAmiga! The price was 56 CUC for 4 people (14 per person) for a 90 minutes of dance.

Callejon de Hamel: We spent the last morning here before our flights left. Chat with the locals and shop for souvenirs here. Also, make sure to purchase some art. This place is free and open to the public.

Cuba tips

1. Bring euros, not USD.

2. Download maps.me and the Cuba map.

3. Download Google Translate and the Spanish language.

4. Print all documents and have screenshots of all your confirmation emails for lodging and tours.
