October 2017 - World Central Kitchen

My October donation is going to the people of Puerto Rico. Ever since I found out the Red Cross didn't do much for the people of Haiti after the devastating earthquake in 2010, I have been hesitant to donate to major organizations. I'd rather give my money to local organizations. But you don't always know who those organizations are or how to get the money to them. Thank God for Twitter! It has been instrumental in helping spread the word. I came across several tweets from accounts I trust that thanked @chefjoseandres for his work in feeding the people of Puerto Rico. With the lack of support from the government of which Puerto Rico belongs to, I knew I had to give something so I chose Chef Jose!
